The Interrogation Room (work-in-progress)
The Interrogation Room is an re-account of a juvenile-artist about to be convicted. The work seeks to question the meaning of risk-taking in the context of art making, political thoughts, and the political economy. Thinking about one's art practice as investment; risks as both political and financial risks; profit or gain as radicalism — how does one calculate risk? Considering the existing notion of the modern nation-state, The Interrogation Room asks its viewers to question and rethink the meaning of power, authority and legitimacy in today's political climate in the context of citizenship, and the "privilege" that comes with it.
Lastly, this one-minute video-performance explores the meaning of risk-taking and risk management, and the usage of the self, or one's body in this process — all in the relation to thinking about conditions revolving artistic practice, political thoughts
This trial was done with the help of storyteller-artist Aldo Ramos.
